Hi there!
My story starts with difficult post-pregnancy weight, unhealthy habits, and feeling like an un-energetic mother of two young children. My story includes making life-altering decisions for my young 6-year-old son. There are no doubts that I have felt the struggles of being led astray with failing diet programs and diagnoses, endless laboratory testing, various forms of bad advice, a failing health system, and totally feeling stuck! But my story doesn't end with overcoming these struggles... Breaking the chains of these struggles happened with experience and becoming informed!
Research, education, and trial by error, helped me to learn how specific foods and lifestyle changes impact everyone differently. The fundamental key is to locate the root cause and understand how our personal, environmental, mental, and social circumstances shape the development and improvement of our mind-set about ourselves, our food, and our environment. I went from an un-energetic, pre-diabetic mom to performing on stage as an amateur body builder and I did it at age 40! My son went from having a mis-diagnosed condition, advisement of taking mind-altering and personality-changing medication, and having frontal-lobe seizures, to becoming an athletic and healthy young man without medication!
For myself, I spun my wheels repetitively, felt discouraged that hard work, and advisement I was following was not paying off! My epiphany in both of these experiences was learning the fundamental elements of nutrition and the microbiome of our unique selves that provides the keys to healing, leaning, and energizing the body, and feeling better and healthier.
In 2010, I became a certified Master Trainer and have worked with ages from 8 to 80. My experience includes youth sports coaching, group exercise instructing, exercise therapy, sports nutrition, and bodybuilding coaching, to name a few. I am also a certified Health Coach, have implemented wellness programs and conducted public speaking events, advised local schools regarding pre and post season training guidance for athletes, and have trained many competitive individuals. In 2022, I earned a master's degree in Integrative Health and Clinical Nutrition and is the area of concentration that I am spending most of my time. I enjoy sharing evidence-based research and knowledge and provide coaching to help people tune into their mind, body, and spirit, discover root causes of symptoms, reduce and/or eliminate those symptoms, boost self-confidence, and reduce other health risks. Together, we will discover any culprit foods and/or ingredients that are affecting the body, target triggers, change lifestyle habits, and improve the health, mood, self-confidence, and image of You.
